Leicester City F.C. is an English professional football club based in Leicester. The club currently competes in the Premier League, England’s top division of football. They were founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse F.C., playing on a field near Fosse Road.
They changed their name to Leicester City in 1919 and moved to the nearby Walkers Stadium in 2002, which was later renamed as the King Power Stadium after a change of ownership. Their nickname is “The Foxes”. They are currently owned by the King Power International Group and their Chairman is Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
Leicester City famously won the Premier League in 2015-16 defying all odds. The Foxes are one of six clubs to win the Premier League since its inception in 1992. Leicester City have also won Football League Championship 7 times as well. They have also won the Football League Cup and Community Shield on one occasion each.
The Foxes’ all-time leading goalscorer is Arthur Chandler with 273 goals in all competitions. Graham Cross holds the record for most number of appearances which stands at 599.
