Swansea City is a Welsh professional football club that is based in Swansea, Wales. The football club was founded in 1912. The club was founded in as Swansea Town and joined the Football League in 1921. The club changed their name in 1969, when they adopted the name Swansea City to reflect Swansea’s new status as a city.

Swansea are currently owned by Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan, the two majority shareholders at the club. Their home is called the Liberty stadium which was built in 2005, before which they were playing at Vetch Field since the club was founded.

The Swans have lifted the Football League Cup once. They have also lifted the Football League One title three times, while also lifting the Football League Two title once.

Their current manager is Graham Potter and was appointed at the start of this year. Swansea City’s all-time leading goal scorer is Ivor Allchurch, who scored 166 goals across his career. Wilfred Milne holds the record for the most number of club appearances which stands at 586.
