Arsenal

Arsenal Football club, previously known as Woolwich Arsenal and Royal Arsenal was founded in 1886.

It is now based in Islington, London, England.

The club moved to the newly built Emirates stadium ahead of the 2006-07 season, after spending their glorious years at the famous Highbury.

After Arsene Wenger, the clubs’ long-serving manager stepped down from the hot seat, Unai Emery was appointed as his successor.

The club is famous for their unbeaten 2003-04 season which saw them lift the only Golden Premier League trophy.

Arsenal were unbeaten for 49 consecutive Premier League games, the record which is yet to be broken by any club.

With 228 goals, Thierry Henry is the club’s record goalscorer and rightly called the ‘King of Highbury’.

The club is currently owned by Stan Kroenke, an American businessman who has ties with several sports franchises across the US. By June 2008, Kroenke became the majority stakeholder at Arsenal football club.

The list of honours includes 13 Premier League titles and 12 FA Cups.
