Will Bacary Sagna Follow Van Persie, Song And Fabregas ?

It is clear that there lies a problem between Arsenal and full back Bacary Sagna, and though the player have described Arsenal as his family, will he stay at emirates or will the French International follow the likes of Robin Van Persie, Song, Fabregas and others who have recently left the cub in search of greater success.

Bacary Sagna joined from French club Auxerre in July 2007 and since then developed into one of the best right backs in the Premier League. The biggest question is will he stay at Emirates after having spent five years at Arsenal and with his contract running down. Sagna leaving Arsenal will only add pressure to the manager and the board, who are already facing some problems with small groups of fans starting to protest against them. Though there are not yet strong offers from other clubs, contract talks between Arsenal and Sagna have not yet started, that is the most worrying sign amongst the fans. 

Speaking to Arsenal.com he said he has always and still loves playing for the club,

It has been magic. I’ve enjoyed a lot playing for Arsenal and I still love it,” Sagna told Arsenal Player. “Every time I go to the pitch, I just give 100 per cent for the team. 

“[The Club] is like my family. My personal family is in France but I feel at home here, I feel happy to come training and I feel relaxed. There are not many big clubs where you feel that confident. I think I have progressed a lot – that was my target, to come to such a big club and improve. I am very calm compared to when I came, I used to be a bit stressed before games but now I am totally relaxed because of my team-mates and the manager.”

 The 29 year said he was apprehensive about the move to England but insists that he is delighted with the way things have worked out. 

“I was a bit nervous because my English was [very basic], I was leaving my family and friends and it was a new life for me,” he said. The first day was long. I had a lot of tests and I just had to wait for the FA to approve my contract. For one week I was scared something would happen. They finally [approved it] and I first started here at Emirates Stadium against Fulham. We won the game in the last 10 minutes, so it was just magic.” 

Sagna has a year left in his contract and suggesting from the activities of the player from this summer, reportedly the incident where he slammed Arsenal’s transfer policy during the transfer of Van Persie and Wenger’s reply to him all suggest that the player may leave if the club continue to decline in search of a new challenge.
