Watch-out! These Two Leeds United Youngsters Can Take The Championship By Storm Next Season

Two Leeds United Youngsters To Watch Out For Next Season

There may be a mass player exodus for Garry Monk to deal with this summer, so it’s a good job Leeds have a good reputation for bringing through top talent.

Jansson, Bartley, Taylor, Cooper, Wood and Roofe (have I missed anyone?) are all sought-after players and may yet decide to look elsewhere for football, especially if they receive interest from Premier League clubs.

Not much has changed in recent years when it comes to Leeds bringing through good youngsters and Charlie Taylor, for example, has shined this season and has been the subject of overtures from various Premier League clubs. Here we look at two of their younger players who can make a big impact next term:

Ronaldo Vieira

Not a surprising choice, considering he was a mainstay of their midfield this season in the Championship and racked up 38 appearances in total. That’s impressive for an 18-year-old and he can be expected to play even more next term.

Vieira is an exceptional young midfielder and will only get better. However, we’re sure it’s not lost on him and his representatives that he needs at least another year of stability for moving to one of the bigger clubs to carry on his progression. For now, Leeds is the ideal place for him and it is easy to see the central midfielder driving Leeds towards promotion if they get the right players to surround him.

Tyler Denton

Much has been made of left-back Charlie Taylor’s progression and it appears his time at Leeds is ending on a rather sour note. The defender refused to play Leeds’ last game of the season and manager Garry Monk publicly promised internal punitive action before his contract ran down.

Taylor though will now go off and find another club, most likely in the Premier League, and Leeds will be left needing a replacement. A more experienced left-back will likely be bought at some stage over the next few months, but watch out for 21-year-old former Leeds academy graduate getting more game time.

Just 2 FA Cup games and an EFL Cup match were afforded to him last season and it may be possible that he might be sent out on loan at some stage but the experience will do him the world of good. Denton is the type to flourish if given his chance in the set-up and depending who Monk manages to bring in, this could be his year.
