Celtic Player Ratings vs Hibernian: Here’s how the Hoops fared

Odsonne Edouard bagged a double as Celtic beat Hibernian 4-2 in a thrilling encounter at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Celtic were 2-0 ahead inside 20 minutes, courtesy of goals from Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham. But a brilliant strike from Florian Kamberi got Hibernian back in the game after 63 minutes.

Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops soon re-established their two-goal lead through Edouard before Martin Boyle pulled another one back for the visiting Hibs side.

With two minutes left in the game, Edouard scored his second to seal the game.

Celtic Player Ratings

Craig Gordon – 6/10

Gordon had a barely comfortable first half when Hibernian rarely threatened. He had no chance with the two goals scored in the second half.

Mikael Lustig – 4/10

Another uninspiring performance from Lustig, who was at fault for a Hibernian goal. Didn’t offer much going forward and remained suspect defensively.

Dedryck Boyata – 7/10

Boyata was a pillar at the back for the Hoops. He would have been gutted to see his team concede.

Filip Benkovic – 7/10

Benkovic showed why Leicester spent big on him in the summer. On loan at Celtic, the man-mountain defender is proving his credentials and put in another strong display at the back.

James Forrest – 8/10

Forrest was a bundle of energy down the right and always looked to exploit the spaces behind the Hibernian defence. Supplied a neat pass for Edouard’s first goal in the game.

Kieran Tierney

Kieran Tierney – 8/10

Another impressive performance from the young defender. Tierney also dinked in a cross for Edouard to seal the deal.

Scott Brown – 3/10

Brown had already picked up a booking before he hobbled off the pitch in the 21st minute.

Olivier Ntcham – 7/10

Ntcham has come under a lot of fire lately but he delivered a solid performance in the middle of the park. He took his goal well, guiding a low shot beyond Adam Bogdan for his fourth goal of the season.

Tom Rogic – 7/10

Scored a good goal from outside the box to give Celtic the lead before laying the ball through for Olivier Ntcham for the second goal. A top display from the Australian.

Callum McGregor – 8/10

McGregor was simply outstanding as he dictated the tempo of the game. A display that’s worthy of a shout!

Odsonne Edouard- 8/10

Edouard scored two and hit the woodwork twice to give Celtic a morale-boosting victory.

Substitutes

Scott Sinclair – 5/10

Replaced Brown in the first half and did his job well.

Ryan Christie – 4/10

Came on for Forrest in the 82nd minute to add fresh impetus to the attack.

Eboue Kouassi – 3/10

A surprising substitution from Rodgers as Kouassi came on with 20 minutes left to play. Didn’t do anything noteworthy to merit another appearance.
