Nottingham Forest should go all out to sign this out-of-favour Premier League star to shore up their midfield – Agreed?

Why Nottingham Forest need Leicester City star Andy King

Sky Sports has revealed that Nottingham Forest are one of the many Championship sides interested in making a move for out-of-favour Leicester City star Andy King. The 30-year-old has struggled to make an impact for the Foxes this season, with manager Claude Puel opting for Wilfried Ndidi, Hamza Choudhury, Nampalys Mendy and even Matty James instead.

This combined with his insistence to play football has led to the 30-year-old being interested to leave the King Power Stadium, albeit on loan.

However, for Nottingham Forest, this would make a great move, not only given King’s experience and ability in the middle of the park. The Leicester City midfielder has won three league titles in all of England’s top flight leagues with the Foxes and played a crucial part in their Premier League winning season.

That in itself makes the move a great one for Nottingham Forest as there are few affordable players around with Andy King’s experience.

However, it’s not just his experience that makes the 30-year-old such a good player but in a lower level, King could thrive and even flourish for Forest. While the Championship side does have the likes of Adlene Guedioura, Ben Watson and even Jack Colback, neither of the three are half as good as Andy King.

The Englishman’s passing remains as accurate as it was during the title-winning 2015/16 season but it’s his defensive abilities that make him so valuable.

Lightning quick at reading a game, King knows exactly what might or rather could happen and then makes a move to stop it, but now that age has played a part, the 30-year-old uses his wits rather than his brawn.

That combined with the fact that the Telegraph has revealed that Andy King wants a move away, does make a move a no brainer for any Championship side. If nothing else, they should bring him in for his experience as the 30-year-old has already made nearly 400 appearances for the Foxes and is currently their longest serving player.

Plus, his current deal has only 18 months left only it, which means that if interested Nottingham Forest can convince Leicester City to give them a great deal on his transfer fee.

However, with West Brom and other sides in the race, any move will have to be completed as soon as possible, especially with the January window closing soon.

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
