Swansea City will be aiming to carry on their unbeaten start to the Championship by getting one over a dominant Leeds United. Graham Potter’s men won their first two games and drew the last one against Birmingham City, but will be taking on a Marcelo Bielsa side that has so all three of their games so far.
It will certainly be an exciting game to watch as two in-form teams battle it out at the Liberty Stadium.
Mid-week games always prove to be a huge selection headache for the manager but Graham Potter will be relieved to be able to pick from a fully-fit squad, with the exception being long-term absentee Wilfried Bony.
Kristoffer Nordfeldt is out for two to four weeks after the groin injury he suffered last weekend. Apart from that, the other Swansea stars returned unscathed after their game against Birmingham and will be itching to get their boots on to face Leeds United.
After Kristoffer Nordfeldt succumbed to injury in the previous game, Mulder came in and replaced the Dutch international. He kept a clean sheet in the game against Birmingham and will start against Leeds United.
The Welsh international hasn’t been defensively reliable at times but has shown his quality going forward. He will pose all sorts of problems for the Leeds full-backs.
The centre-back has taken the reigns from Federico Fernandez and has excelled in his absence. He will be a vital cog for the Swans this season.
It’s going to be a busy day for the youngster against Marcelo Bielsa’s men, but Rodon isn’t the one to shy away from a challenge. He has come into the side and impressed the manager with his understanding and awareness on the field.
The 30-year-old Swede should continue at left-back as Swansea aim to bag 3 very important points against a difficult opposition in Leeds United.
Fulton has done well playing on the right-hand side of a three-man central midfield. He has been defensively diligent but should improve his distribution going forward.
The versatile midfielder hasn’t been able to pick up a goal or assist so far, but his creativity and vision have proved beneficial for the Swans.
Carroll has been excellent with his distribution in the final third and has been one of the early performers for the Swans. He should continue in his role on the left-hand side of the three-man midfield.
The 19-year-old’s direct runs down the right flank give defenders a torrid time at the back. He has picked up 1 assist in 3 games already and will be aiming to stamp his authority this season.
McBurnie has picked up 1 goal in 3 games for the Swans this season and could give Leeds’ defenders a run for their money.
Nobody whips in better crosses into the box than Barrie McKay. His supply has been vital for the club so far.
