It is suggested that Turkish outfit Fenerbahce have received a £5m offer from a mystery London club for defensive midfielder Mehmet Topal though Arsenal are claimed to be the favourites to sign him. The Turkish giants were hoping to keep the midfield superstar at the club but are now struggling to do so, with the Gunners looking to seal a deal for their target.
Apart from Arsene Wenger’s side, their London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on the defender and might look to sign him this summer.
It is not clear which club exactly made the offer though it surely has to be one of the three, according to Turkish Eurosport.
Arsenal are quite keen on adding another defensive midfielder to their squad and the 29-year-old superstar will be quite handy to provide competition for Frenchman Francis Coquelin.
The former Valencia man has made 87 appearances in total for Fenerbahce, scoring eight goals since joining the club in 2012.
