Matteo Darmian to Manchester United is almost done.
Reports from Sky Italia suggest that full-back Matteo Darmian will undergo a medical examination on Friday, prior to joining Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United side. The 25-year-old defender is all set to become the Red Devils’ second summer signing after Dutch winger Memphis Depay signed for the Premier League giants.
The 25-year-old defensive superstar is expected to sign a four-year contract and the terms have been reportedly agreed between the player and the clubs. United will have to pay a fee of around £13m for the Italian international’s services, who has written a letter thanking the Torino fans thanking them for their support.
Torino coach Giampiero Ventura has backed the move saying that the club could surely use the money they will make by this deal going through and will try to build a better side.
The Italian national team’s best player of 2014, Darmian, was once again superb in Serie A, making 32 appearances. Though he began his career with European giants AC Milan, he has played for Palermo as well, prior to joining Torino in 2011.
