Predicted Manchester United Line-up To Face Arsenal In The Premier League

A couple of stunners from Ashley Young and a late, wonder-goal from Jesse Lingard gave Manchester United a much-needed victory in their mid-week their trip to the Hawthorns. The Red Devils are now back to 2nd place in the points table and will look to continue their good form at the weekend, when they travel to the Emirates, to face Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.

The rivalry between Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger has already kicked off and both managers will settle for nothing less than three points. The visitors cannot afford to drop even a point in their race to catch Manchester City but will not find it any easy to play at the Emirates. Mourinho will have his own plans for sure.

Team News

Jose Mourinho will be without the services of star midfielder Nemanja Matic, who limped away in the game against Watford. Phil Jones, Michael Carrick and Eric Bailly remain unavailable while Belgian star Marouane Fellaini, who missed the previous game, is expected to be back in the squad this weekend.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Manager: Jose Mourinho

GK – David de Gea

Though he let in two goals last game, De Gea was decent and will have his work cut out in this crunch clash.

RWB – Antonio Valencia

The veteran full-back has not been at his best in recent games but will have to keep a close eye on the likes of Sanchez in this game.

Antonio Valencia

CB – Victor Lindelof

Sticking to a back-3, Mourinho should start Lindelof on the right-hand side of the 3-man backline against Arsenal.

CB – Chris Smalling

With Bailly and Jones injured, Smalling should remain the senior centre-back starting at the heart of the backline for his side.

CB – Marcos Rojo

The Argentine had a decent outing against Watford and should keep his place on the left-hand side of the backline in this game.

LWB – Ashley Young

After a match-winning performance in the previous game, Young should keep his place as a wing-back on the left flank.

CM – Ander Herrera

With Matic injured, Herrera, who replaced him in the last game, should start at the heart of the midfield for the Red Devils.

CM – Marouane Fellaini

Adding some mettle to the midfield should be Fellaini, who is expected to be fit for this weekend.

Paul Pogba

RAM – Paul Pogba

The French international was one of the best players for United at the Vicarage Road and will hope to put in a similar performance against the Gunners.

LAM – Marcus Rashford

The youngster should start in an attacking role, playing behind the striker in a 3-4-2-1 formation from Mourinho.

ST – Romelu Lukaku

The Belgian has been out of form in the last few games but has to be back to his best if his team is to take anything from this game.
