3 Players Alan Pardew Should Sign For West Brom

With Tony Pulis getting the sack from the West Brom board, it’s now Alan Pardew’s turn to help the Baggies battle relegation this season and keep them secured in the Premier League.

With just 2 wins in 14 games, West Bromwich Albion sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table at 17th place with just 12 points. The Baggies find themselves just 2 points above the relegation zone and are yet to win a game since their 1-0 victory over Burnley way back in August.

The West Midlands outfit are struggling for goals with Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon finding it difficult to score goals this season. This is not the kind of season where West Brom’s conventional tactics will help them avoid relegation, with the substantial jump in quality of players spread across teams in the League.

Thankfully for Alan Pardew, there is enough time to save the season as the January transfer window is just around the corner. There are plenty of quality players in the market who can add strength and fresh impetus to the Baggies, both in attack and in defence.

Here’s a look at three players who Pardew should look to bring to the Hawthorns in January.

Danny Ings

Rondon and Rodriguez haven’t quite managed to contribute much to the West Brom attack, with a combined 4 league goals for the pair. The Baggies clearly need a proven striker in their ranks and there is one player on the Merseyside looking for regular game time.

Danny Ings is a vastly underrated striker, who is currently struggling to break into Liverpool’s first-team after recovering from a long-term injury; thanks to the quality of Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke. Ings, a natural finisher, will offer plenty of pace to the West Brom attack that clearly lacks speed and movement.

A loan move to the Hawthorns will do a world of good for the 25-year-old. But after missing almost two seasons due to injuries, it will be hard for him to make an instant impact.

Marko Grujic

The 21-year-old Serbian international is one of the most talented young midfielders in Europe, but due to Jurgen Klopp’s large array of midfield options, Grujic has only been warming the bench for the Reds this season and is keen to move out on loan in January.

Grujic is tall, strong and has plenty of pace for his size. He has often been compared to Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic due to the similarities in their frame and style of play.

With an eye for goal, Grujic is always looking to drive forward with the ball from midfield. He would be a great addition for Pardew’s West Brom squad.

Eliaquim Mangala

Having brought in three expensive defenders in the summer, there is absolutely no way Eliaquim Mangala can break into the Manchester City first-team. Pep Guardiola has very much ignored the Frenchman and is likely to offload him in the summer.

West Brom could really use the services of the out of sorts French defender, who can partner Jonny Evans or Ahmed Hegazi at the back.

The Baggies are lacking real solidity in defence, having leaked in 21 goals so far in the league. Pardew would look to capture Mangala, who should be able to thrive at the Hawthorns given his experience.
