Manchester Utd vs Wolves prediction: Manchester United predicted line-up

Manchester United will be facing Wolves in one of the highly-anticipated games on Monday night in the Premier League. Wolves were a bit of a bogey team for the Red Devils last season and a victory at the Molineux would send a real marker for the rest of the season.

It’ll be interesting to see what team Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to line-up with to counter Wolves’ threat and here’s the predicted line-up for the Red Devils:

David De Gea – Goalkeeper

After a very odd season by his high standards last season for club and country, the Spaniard looks like he was back to his best as he made a few comfortable saves in the game against Chelsea. He earned an important clean-sheet and will need to continue in this vein of form.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Right-back

The new signing didn’t look fazed in his first game at Old Trafford and brought a lot of calmness and composure to that backline on Sunday.

The Englishman is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the Premier League and will play a huge part in keeping Wolves’ left-wing-back quite.

Victor Lindelof – Centre-back

All the talk before the game against Chelsea was about his partner but the Swede was equally impressive while in possession and at sweeping away danger. Lindelof was fantastic in the second half of last season and looked even better alongside Harry Maguire.

Harry Maguire – Centre-back

The world’s most expensive defender was awarded the Man of the Match award last Sunday and will be crucial at helping United initiate attacks and nullifying the threat of Wolves’ Raul Jimenez, who was used last season in the build-up phase.

Harry Maguire

Luke Shaw – Left-back

United’s player of the season from last season struggled in the first-half as Marcus Rashford did not track his runner but was comfortable in the second half after Rashford helped him out and will have to deal with the threat of Wolves marauding wing-back Matt Doherty.

Scott McTominay – Central Midfield

The academy graduate was arguably United’s best player in the last two months of last season and has come up leaps and bounds as a midfield destroyer but has also shown his attacking instincts in recent games. His presence will help United in midfield.

Paul Pogba – Central Midfield

The other half of United’s double-pivot. If Paul Pogba is in form, United are likely to come out with all 3 points. He showed his quality in moments and is quite simply unstoppable when he decides to turn up. United will be hoping that he does the same on Monday.

Paul Pogba

Jesse Lingard – Attacking midfielder

He switched to a central role in the second half against Chelsea, which changed the game.

He’s the trigger for United’s press and his off the ball runs will stretch and harry Wolves’ midfield. It’ll be important that he disrupts Wolves’ midfield.

Marcus Rashford – Left-wing

He has a big season ahead and got off to a fine start with two goals.

Rashford will be looking to make runs in behind that Wolves defence but because they usually sit back, he’ll have to use some guile and might have to take some shots from range to disrupt that defence.

Andreas Pereira – Right-wing

Looked a lot more settled on the wing as he struggled to keep possession in a central role.

Showed his quality for the second goal and will have to do more of the same on Monday. He’ll also be massive for set-pieces as that’s one of the Brazilians biggest strengths with Harry Maguire looking to win headers.

Anthony Martial – Centre-forward

The Frenchman also got off the mark early and will constantly be switching positions with Marcus Rashford.

He’s got his favoured position back and will have to use his amazing conversion rate to good effect as he’s one of the most lethal shooters in the Premier League.
