Alexis Sanchez has been the definition of Jose Mourinho’s final season with Manchester United. Not only has he failed to do anything with the big money move that he wanted so badly, but the Chilean has now become a burden for the club.
It’s one of the reasons why the Red Devils might lose David De Gea. Sanchez has now been linked with a move away, with the Daily Mail reporting that Atletico Madrid and even Juventus are keen.
Manchester United could at least manage to earn some money back from the deal. But this means that they need a replacement. Someone who can effectively score goals and maybe even play second fiddle to the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.
It’s not the hardest job in the world but this time it has to be the right man for the job.
Linked with a move to Manchester United over the season, it should come as no surprise given just how well the young Mexican has performed. He finished his season with 21 goals and 12 assists in all competitions, including four in the Champions League.
However, it’s not why Manchester United need him. The Mexican combines pace, power and spatial awareness brilliantly, finding spaces that shouldn’t otherwise exist.
His statistics show that he beats the goalkeeper more often than not and it’s that ability that will make him a big star in the near future.
Another talented Eredivisie starlet, Steven Bergwijn also had a fantastic season himself, finishing with 15 goals and 13 assists in all competitions. It’s a great number and that has seen him linked with a move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils have struggled immensely for both goals and assists this season and need someone like the Dutch international at their disposal. His move to PSV saw him hit new heights, one that few scouts predicted and his performances have improved season after season.
Furthermore, it’s seen Bergwijn improve, find his scoring touch but also experiment with positions. He’s not only played as a left-winger but also as a centre-forward and on the right-hand side.
Both areas have seen him make the transition seamlessly, which means that there might be a future for him once he does make the move.
Linked with Manchester United recently, the young Brazilian has been one of Everton’s most important players and he only made the move across last summer. Since then, not only has his value continued to rise but Richarlison has improved all aspects of his game.
He’s become much more consistent in front of goal, created more opportunities for team-mates and even played as a centre-forward. While that last one didn’t work to plan, the Brazilian would still be a rather astute signing by the Red Devils.

With time, he’ll be the perfect replacement for a struggling Chilean. He finished the season with 14 goals in all competitions, which is more than what most Manchester United players can say.
