Arsenal Player Ratings For The FA Cup Win Over Hull City

Share

Arsenal had a comfortable start to their FA Cup defense against the team they secured their first trophy last season by winning the FA Cup. Their 2-0 win against a decent yet struggling Hull City would have anyway improved the morale of the team. Here are the player ratings.

David Ospina: 3/5

He was barely tested and managed to keep a clean-sheet. If he maintains his fitness, he would definitely challenge Szczesny for a starting spot.

Hector Bellerin: 3.5/5

The youngster was very attack minded and put some good crosses. One cross ended up winning a corner that led to the goal.

Per Mertesacker: 3/5

He scored a goal and had a decent game overall. Would want to continue to maintain consistency.

Calum Chambers: 3.5/5

Chambers had a very comfortable evening playing as a center back and enjoyed his game against a weak Hull City side, which posed very few threats in the final third.

Nacho Monreal: 3/5

He was much more cautious at Left Back and had a comfortable match.

Cazorla: 4/5

He excelled playing centrally and was the main play-maker for the team and linked well with Sanchez.

Coquelin: 3/5

He was aggressive and all action in midfield. He got lucky with a couple of rough tackles which could have been booked, but the French man looks to be a good squad player if he improves his overall mentality towards the game.

Rosicky: 3.5/5

The long serving Czech midfielder gelled well with Cazorla and his style suited the tempo of the game. He made good attacking runs as well.

Theo Walcott: 3/5

Made his first start since an year after his injury. The winger got in behind the defence on a few occasions but looked like he was getting used to playing again.

Alexis Sanchez: 4/5

Had a great day as he scored and led from the front with the most initiative. The Chilean looked as lively as ever.

Joel Campbell: 3/5

He was a tireless worker but his finishing and deliveries were average.

Subs:

Chamberlain: 3/5

He came on for Walcott for the last 15 mins. He played well to see out the game.

Maitland-Niles: N/A

A late sub for Campbell.

Chuba Akpom: N/A

A late sub for Alexis.
