With 11 international goals, Everton signing this tricky speed dribbler on the cheap would be an absolute steal

Why signing Yacine Brahimi will help Everton trump the mid-table challengers

Everton had an excellent summer in terms of strengthening their squad. The arrivals were Richarlison from Watford, Kurt Zouma from Chelsea, Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Lucas Digne from Barcelona and Bernard on a free transfer after his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk ended.

But since the beginning of the season, they have lost 8 games, and have only scored 31 goals in 21 games. At 1.5 goals per game, Everton are struggling to score more than one goal in a lot of games. Theo Walcott tends to be quite inconsistent while Bernard is a very fragile winger.

What Everton need is a player who can do all the technical things that Bernard executes neatly, and also be pacy on the ball. They need a quintessential winger, a player who loves to get chalk on his boots by sticking to the lines and doesn’t fear to try to occasional trick or flick.

While Walcott adds a ton of dynamism to the Everton attack, his inconsistency and lack of subtlety in play are still very obvious and Bernard is not fast and can’t keep up in certain situations. Given the position they are in, Marco Silva should be looking for alternatives.

According to the Mirror, Everton have had scouts watching French-born Algerian international Yacine Brahimi, who plays as a left-winger for Portuguese giants Porto. It is also suggested that they are looking to lure him to Goodison Park on the cheap as his contract expires at the end of the season.

Brahimi could be the solution to a lot of the problems Marco Silva is facing right now. He is capable of adding a new dimension to the Everton attack which also boasts the immense quality and finesse of Richarlison. He has 41 caps for Algeria and has scored 11 goals for his country as well.

With such talented players all around him, Everton could be the place where Brahimi could truly express himself as a footballer. He is a pacy winger who is an expert dribbler.

His turns are almost unreadable and he moves with insane amounts of agility. He is also strong and has a keen eye for passes. He has played 16 league games this season and scored 6 times.

While he does bring attacking intensity, his defensive work rate is also extremely high, making him a good fit for the Premier League. Marco Silva might prefer waiting until the end of the season to bring the Algerian on a free transfer but if he deems it necessary, then this is a good piece of business to pull off in January.
