Chelsea will be hoping to get some transfer business done after announcing the arrival of new manager Maurizio Sarri. The club subsequently announced the signing of Napoli midfielder Jorginho as well. Manager Maurizio Sarri will be aiming to finish his business as soon as possible and before the start of the new season.
The Blues have reportedly come to an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Chelsa have reportedly agreed on a £48.5million fee for the player who will make the move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Sarri is going to have to find a replacement for the club’s number one shot-stopper and the club are being linked with a move for former goalkeeper Petr Cech. Chelsea are also reportedly interested in signing Kasper Schmeichel from Leicester City.
Cech joined the club in 2004 from French outfit Rennes for a reported fee of just £7million. The goalkeeper claimed 4 Premier league titles and 1 Champions League title with the club. After moving to Stamford Bridge, Cech established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.
The 36-year-old then made the move to Arsenal for a reported fee of around £10million. But the Gunners have also chosen to replace him with Bayer Leverkusen shot-stopper Bernd Leno.
It would seem as though Kasper Schmeichel is the better option at this moment given his age and potential. The goalkeeper has been excellent for the Foxes over the last two years. He was also impressive for the Denmark national side in Russia.
Schmeichel is the son of legendary Manchester United goalkeeper Peter, and so it’s fate that his son is destined for greatness. Kasper Schmeichel has already lifted the Premier League with Leicester City and will be hoping to add more trophies to his collection.
Schmeichel has made a total of 133 appearances for the Foxes in the Premier League, keeping a total of 41 clean sheets and amassing 409 saves in that time. He is a brilliant shot-stopper with excellent reflexes in the six-yard box.

He has also saved a total of 3 penalties during his time with the Foxes. Schmeichel was also impressive in the penalty shootout against Croatia in the round of 16.
Sarri should certainly make the move for the Danish stopper who only seems to be getting better and better each time he steps onto the field. Acquiring Petr Cech at this stage would seem very unwise and the player could end up being a liability.
Sarri has the job of taking Chelsea back into the top-four and he’s going to need the best players for that. Kasper Schmeichel is the way to go in this scenario.
