Why this £52.5m-rated Gunner should snub Manchester United and stay put at Arsenal

Hector Bellerin

Premier League giants Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Arsenal star Hector Bellerin, as per recent reports from English media. The Red Devils have already made an enquiry regarding the availability of the 23-year-old defender in recent weeks.

Even though the Gunners have set an astounding price tag of £52.5m for the Spaniard, United are known for spending big bucks when it comes to their transfers. Therefore, there could be a stark possibility of the Red Devils ideally planning to go big for the Spaniard this summer.

In addition, Bellerin’s future with Arsenal is unclear, despite having a healthy contract with the Gunners. The fact that Arsenal might be on the verge of missing out on Champions League yet again next season could potentially play a huge part in Bellerin’s departure this summer.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have vastly improved and are arguably having their best season of the post-Ferguson era. Currently placed second in the league table, Jose Mourinho’s men are well on their way to securing Champions League football next season and could potentially make a huge mark in the league next campaign.

But that being said, however, staying put at Arsenal might be the most logical decision for Hector Bellerin, considering the fact that the Spaniard still has loads of potential, which could well help him transform into an even better defender in the coming years.

Hector Bellerin

The 23-year-old, who currently earns £100,000-a-week, has flourished under the leadership of Arsene Wenger as well as Arsenal’s possession-based style of play. Wenger’s fluid system allows him to be more independent in the final third, where he often uses his pace and tenacity to bamboozle the opposing defence.

Manchester United, on the contrary, plays conservative football under Jose Mourinho, which might ultimately prove to be detrimental for the Spanish international. A move to Old Trafford would not only decrease his playing time but will also creep in uncertainty regarding his performances, largely due to the highly defense-oriented tactical philosophy used by the Red Devils.

Though Bellerin is yet to break into the Spanish national team, the Arsenal star is tipped as a long-term prospect in the right-back position. There is no doubt that the 23-year-old is an extremely talented right-back who is already regarded as one of the best young fullbacks in the world, if not the best. Hence, Bellerin should definitely stay at the Emirates for at least another season before making the next huge step in his career.
