According to a report in the Scottish Sun, new Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers could make a summer move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos. The Foxes boss is compiling a list of players who he could sign as he looks to spend the £200m in his transfer kitty.
As per the report, the ex-Celtic boss thinks that the Colombian frontman could make a huge impact in the Premier League. He is also keeping track of Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
Morelos has been one of the fan favourites at Rangers, but he is almost certain to leave the Ibrox at the end of this season in favour of a big-money move (h/t Scottish Sun).
He has never hidden his desire to play in England and has admitted that he will look for options elsewhere when the transfer window reopens (h/t Scottish Sun).
Here’s why Leicester should sign the Colombian in the summer window:
As of now, Leicester City have one of the best strikers in the Premier League in Jamie Vardy. He is lethal in front of goal and doesn’t require many chances to put the ball in the back of the net.
The Englishman was one of the key players in the Foxes’ dream 2015-16 season when they won the Premier League.
But the problem the Foxes have is the lack of back-up/partner for Vardy up front. Shinji Okazaki and Kelechi Iheanacho are there but they haven’t done enough to really fill that role up.
Hence, it would make sense from Leicester’s viewpoint that they sign a ruthless striker to partner Vardy. Alfredo Morelos could be an ideal signing in the summer window.
The Colombian has been one of the in-form strikers in the Scottish League, who, like Leicester’s talisman, doesn’t need a lot of chances to score goals in a particular game. He has scored 26 goals in 36 games this season.

Leicester should do everything to approach Rangers and sign Morelos ahead of the start of next season.
The Colombian’s partnership with Vardy up front along with the creative talent of Harvey Barnes, James Maddison and Demarai Gray could be a powerful front-line to have.
