Who Is This Latest Norwich Signing From Leyton Orient? Everything You Need To Know

Tristan Abrahams

Scout Report – Tristan Abrahams

Much changed Championship outfit Norwich City have signed striker Tristan Abrahams from Leyton Orient. The 18-year-old has been loaned back to the East London side for the season to gain more experience but he looks like a good acquisition for the East Anglian club.

Abrahams has gone totally under the wider football radar up to this point, but here is what we know about the forward so far:

History

Abrahams was born in Lewisham and was picked up by Leyton Orient to play in their academy. He was thrust into first team action at a very early age, having signed a professional contract last November and having been loaned to non-league Cambridge City.

The striker only made his league debut in March this year, coming off the bench in a 4-0 win for Orient at Newport County and got his first goal for the club in a draw at Luton Town as recently as April. Having been afforded a start next time out, he scored the winner against relegation rivals Hartlepool United.

His rise has been a steep one and by the end of the season he was a target for the Canaries, with a deal done late in July before the agreement to loan him back to Leyton Orient where he will play this season in the National League.

Style Of Play

Abrahams is a confirmed centre-forward but not one who is particularly tall at 5ft 9in. Given his lack of height, he uses his movement well to find space and drag the centre-backs around. Given this style, he is bound to find more space and goal scoring opportunities late in games as defences get tired.

Tristan’s Future

Norwich will know that finding a player at (now) National League level and turning him into a Premier League player (which is their target by the time he returns to Carrow Road), is often the type of deal which is too good to be true.

But they will not have paid overly much for him and realise that with his undoubted potential, the chances are he will not be considered a National League player next season and thus he will be far more valuable.

The worst that can happen to the club and the player is that he will move to the Championship or League One and do so at a profit to Norwich City, benefitting both. The hope of course though, is that he can be a top level player in time and Norwich are protecting their future in the Premier League should they make it.
