Two signings Sam Allardyce must consider signing for Everton this month

Everton’s January transfer window is pretty much up and running already. Sam Allardyce is keen to add fresh faces to his squad and allow players to leave this month. Apart from adding Turkish international Cenk Tosun in a £27million deal earlier in the month, he has already sanctioned the sale of Ross Barkley to Chelsea and has allowed Kevin Mirallas to join Greek side Olympiacos on loan.

It is evident that Everton are in dire need of attacking firepower and balance in the side following their dismal 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday at Wembley. Let’s take a look at two players who could follow Tosun to the Goodison Park in January.

Theo Walcott

The Arsenal forward is all but certain to leave the Gunners in the winter window and a number of Premier League clubs are circling for his signature. Walcott finds himself on the periphery at Arsenal, despite scoring 4 goals and supplying 5 assists in his limited game time this season.

The 28-year-old certainly needs a change of club to reignite his career and push for place in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad in Russia. Big Sam’s Everton lack dynamism in the final third and in Walcott, they would get a player filled with pace and movement.

The former Southampton prodigy is determined to prove his detractors wrong and it won’t be a surprise if he chooses Goodison Park to do that.

Abdul Baba Rahman

With first-team regular Leighton Baines out with an injury, the Toffees have been forced to shift summer signing Cuco Martina to the left wing and the Dutchman has disappointed. Baba Rahman appears to be a player Big Sam could target. The Ghanaian struggled to make an impact with Chelsea and was shipped out to Schalke where he impressed before getting injured.

During his Augsburg days, Baba was a menace on the left, filled with explosive pace and non-stop energy, with delightful crossing abilities. At Chelsea, there is no place for Baba under Antonio Conte and Everton could do with a talented left-back like him on their books. He could prove to be a shrewd capture for the club.
