Top Five Young Prospects In The Premier League Featuring Tottenham And Manchester United Stars

Share

I have listed the top five young players that have emerged this season and prove English football is in a healthy state. May be they would be the next generation of Premier League stars.

Dele Alli

Tottenham struck gold after being the only Premier League side to take a punt on the MK Dons youngster. Alli is a box to box midfielder in the mould of Steven Gerrard – who is equally adept at playing the holding role or one of the three behind the strikers. The 19-year old made an impact for England in the recent win against France and has a big future ahead of him.

Jordon Ibe

Arguably one of the reasons Liverpool were happy to accept Man City’s millions for Sterling was the emergence of Ibe. Strong, quick and highly skilful, Ibe has the ability to play in a plethora of positions from wingback to playing behind the striker. Jurgen Klopp’s arrival has brought the best out in the youngster who is thriving in the Reds pressing style of play.

Brendan Galloway

Galloway’s performances for the Toffees at left back have ensured that the loss of Leighton Baines hasn’t impacted Everton’s season. Galloway is a modern day full back who is equally effective in supporting the attack as well as the defence. It is only a matter of time that he is rewarded with an England call-up for the former MK Dons youngster.

Jesse Lingard

Manchester United are renowned for bringing through good young players and Jesse Lingard is the latest off the production line at Old Trafford. Lingard’s emergence has been one of the real highlights for United supporters who are growing increasingly disillusioned with life under Louis Van Gaal. The winger has already been called up to the full England squad in recent weeks and a strong second half to the season could see the 22-year old make a push for the Euros in the Summer.

Eric Dier

Tottenham’s decision to move Dier from centre-half to holding midfielder has paid great dividends for both club and country. The North London side have the 2nd best defence in the country and a lot of that is simply down to the way Dier has protected the back four. Dier has already broken into the England team this season and offers a younger alternative to Michael Carrick as the anchor in the Three Lions midfield.
