Three Players Who Are Certain To Leave Arsenal This summer

Share

Last summer Arsene Wenger let seventeen players leave the Emirates bringing his annual French acquisition Yaya Sanogo, Matheiu Flamini for a freebie and the whopping mega transfer deal for German Mesut Ozil. A majority of the Gunners fans might feel frustrated at their inactivity in the January transfer window, but Wenger needs to make sure his fans do not rue the opportunity to sign a striker in the winter transfer window. Arsenal’s mass exodus is set to continue in the coming summer and we here at Soccersouls decided to provide three players from the current squad who are more or less set to leave the Emirates come this May.

Lukasz Fabianski

Fabianski

Gunners’ second choice Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is expected to leave the Emirates in the summer and as major tabloids suggest he is close to sign with Schalke. The German club will be offering him a three year contract after he was reluctant to pen a new deal with Arsenal.  Fabianski was Wenger-esque buy from Polish side Legia Warsaw but since then, he failed to make the number one goalkeeping slot his own. The Pole however had some stupendous performances this season, the ones against Liverpool in the FA Cup and Bayern Munich in the Champions League after Szczesny was sent sent off. As the Pole walks away, Wenger will have to look outside his comfort zone to get the possible replacements.

Bacary Sagna

Sagna

According to a major tabloids and most importantly the reliable La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italian giants Inter Milan are very near to agreeing a pre season contract for fullback Bacary Sagna. New  owner Erick Thohir has hitned that transfer funds will be available to spend in the summer window and after the French full back threatened Arsenal to shell out 24m to tie him due for a new deal, it seems the thirty one year old is on his way out of Emirates. Carl Jenkison though not quite ready for the biggest of stages, Wenger again will have to groom him to set his foot in the biggest of games or set out for an instant replacement.

Nikolas Bendtner / Thomas Vermaelen

Vermaelen

Yet another player who might walk out of London would be Danish striker Nikolas Bendtner. And now with Yaya Sanogo’s falshes of dazzling brilliance against Liverpool and Bayern Munich, its certainly curtains for Bendtner at Arsenal. Thomas Vermaelen too would want to move out of Emirates to get more playing time as world cup selection is coming up soon. The former captain will attract bids from clubs all over Europe thanks to his ability, with the most prominent being that from Rafa Benitez’s Napoli.
