Three ideal Premier League destinations for Alfredo Morelos

According to The Sun, many Premier League sides have shown their interest in signing Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos once the winter transfer window commences.

Even though Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are unlikely to welcome any bids, they cannot resist offers from established Premier League clubs for too long.

Morelos has already scored six goals in nine appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season. He is just 23 and is constantly improving each season. He has come off an impressive last season, where he scored 18 goals in 30 appearances. He also provided four assists in those games.

Morelos’ stats from last season are a massive improvement from his first campaign with Rangers, where he scored 14 goals and provided six assists in 35 league appearances. However, his discipline was a talking point. He received four red cards and 10 yellow cards last season.

With that in mind, here are three Premier League clubs that would massively benefit from his presence.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are the best and most likely destination for Morelos. Palace’s sporting director Dougie Freedman was in attendance at Hearts’ Tynecastle ground on Sunday, where Morelos scored in Rangers’ 1-1 draw, as per The Sun.

Eagles’ manager Roy Hodgson needs to buy a regular striker in the winter transfer window. Palace are surprisingly sixth in the league table and Hodgson must strive to retain that position.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa are another club monitoring the striker, as per Daily Express. Coach Dean Smith must strengthen his squad which is making do with just one regular striker.

Wesley Moraes has featured and started in every league game so far. He has scored four goals in those appearances but is currently suffering from a knock which may rule him out of their next game.

Jonathan Kodjia is another striker in the squad but Smith turned to him just once during their league opener. Bringing in Morelos will not only secure a potential striker but will also add competition for regular starting spots.
