This Shocking Stat Will Bring Tears To David Moyes

Share

David Moyes saw Manchester United suffer a third defeat in six league matches and the reigning champions currently stand at a lowly 12th place after 6 games. A shocking defeat at Old Trafford at the hands of West Brom (their first victory at Old Trafford after 35 years) has left the Red Devils in a shock state.

David Moyes admitted last night that he was “concerned” by Manchester United’s woeful form as a deserved 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion condemned the 20-time league champions to their worst start to a season since 1989.

Amid all the stats, match reports, and tactical analysis, we found one stat to be the worse. Manchester United haven’t scored from open play since the starting day of the League season, in other words, It’s now over 400 minutes since Manchester United scored a league goal from open play.

A sickening stat that will send chills down the spine of any United fan. Further, the United boss has admitted that Red Devils will fall short in their Champions League exploits as well. Talking to the press after the game, Moyes said:

“To win the Champions League you have to have five or six world class players. If you look at Bayern Munich, they have five or six really world-class players, and to win it you might have to have that in your squad.

“Look at Barcelona, who had it in the past, and Real Madrid have maybe got it now. That’s the level you have to get at to win it. We’ve not got that yet.”

Here is a picture explaining Manchester United’s goals since the start of the season.
