Arsenal Player Ratings vs FK Qarabag: Here’s how the Gunners fared

Arsenal picked up their eighth consecutive victory of the season after routing FK Qarabag 3-0, picking up a third clean sheet on the bounce. The Gunners are now one of the in-form teams and are playing an expansive brand of football under Unai Emery.

Sokratis bundled in the ball in the fourth minute via a corner before youngster Emile Smith Rowe picked up Arsenal’s second on the night. Matteo Guendouzi then capped off an overall impressive performance with a third goal.

Arsenal Player Ratings

Bernd Leno (7/10)

Leno made a few fine saves in the match. He was also very comfortable playing the ball out from the back.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos

Sokratis (8/10)

Arsenal’s best defender on the night. His defensive qualities are excellent and his awareness was superb.

Rob Holding (6/10)

His positioning was slightly poor in the first half and he often hesitated to come across and bailout Lichsteiner.

Nacho Monreal (7/10)

Won three aerial duels and completed 100% of his tackles on the night. He marshalled the spaces well.

Nacho Monreal and Alex Iwobi

Stephan Lichsteiner (6/10)

Looked slightly off-radar in this game. Most of Qarabag’s threat came down his channel.

Matteo Guendouzi (6.5/10)

Not the best performance from Guendouzi on the night, who failed to gain control in the middle of the park but his passing has been a great asset to this team. The youngster scored his first goal for the club as well.

Mohamed Elneny (5/10)

Didn’t provide much protection to the defence in the first half. He was also often caught out of position.

Mohamed Elneny

Sead Kolasinac (7/10)

Kolasinac looked superb going forward but still has his defensive vulnerabilities. His crossing was impressive as well.

Emile Smith Rowe (7/10)

Struggled a little bit in the first half, giving away possession cheaply. But he scored a goal to make up for it despite squandering other good chances.

Alex Iwobi (9/10)

Iwobi was surely the best player on the pitch. His hold up play was brilliant and he linked up well with Kolasinac down the left channel. He also provided a key assist for the second goal.

Danny Welbeck (6/10)

Not the best performance from Welbeck who struggled to create much in the final third.

Substitutes

Lucas Torreira (6.5/10)

A neat and tidy game from the Uruguayan. He really is fitting into the Emery system.

Mesut Ozil (5/10)

Gave the ball away a few times and made bad decisions in the final third. An odd cameo from the German.
