Strongest Manchester United Lineup To Face Newcastle: Play Chicha, Kagawa In Hole

Share

Things are getting bad to worse for Manchester United and for Moyes this season. They suffered yet another home defeat on midweek against a Roberto Martinez led Everton side. As of now, Manchester United are in 9th position in the league table, that is 12 points behind the league leaders Arsenal.

Let’s see what are all the options available for Moyes to select a strongest possible lineup against Newcastle,

Defense

Phil Jones

Red Devils receives a massive boost as Phil Jones is available for the selection after serving his own one-match ban, so , it’s about time for Moyes to replace Chris Smalling with Phil Jones in central defense to partner with Nemanja Vidic. Rafael to start in the right and Evra to make his trademark overlapping runs from the left.

Central Midfield

Play Anderson instead of Marouane Fellaini

Central midfield selection will give serious headache to David Moyes. With their top midfielder Carrick is still injured, others are not using the oppurtunity given to them to showcase their talent. Both Fellaini and Cleverley are absolutely lackluster in recent games. Who else is there to play in that position? What about the forgotten man Anderson? Even though the Brazilian is lazy and lacks fitness to play the whole 90 mins, he can bring some much needed drive from the midfield. Moyes should at-least give 60 mins game time to the former Porto man alongside with legendary Ryan Giggs in the central midfield.

Wings

Adnan Januzaj – the rising star

United should start with two inverted wingers. Adnan Januzaj should start from the right. With his good dribbling and passing skills, Januzaj brings lot more than what Antonio Valencia brings to this United squad. In the left, Ashley Young or Nani should start but former would be a better option as he gets into some dangerous positions and attract lot of fouls from the opponents.

Attack

Chicharito

Robin van Persie is still a doubt for the game and United’s player of the season Wayne Rooney got himself suspended from the game with accumulated yellow cards. Next best option available is to start Chicharito. Even though the Mexican is no match to RVP in terms of ball skills, he makes up for that with his tremendous goal poaching and positioning skills.

Japanese international Kagawa should start behind Chicha as a no 10. This is a great opportunity for the former Dormund playmaker as this is his usual preferred position.
