Strongest Manchester United Line-up To Play Against Hull City – Januzaj To Continue?

Share
Should Moyes continue with Januzaj?

Thanks to a run of easy fixtures combined with the block buster clashes at the top of the table, Manchester United are just 6 points behind a top 4 spot after having started the season in the most horrible way. David Moyes takes his Manchester United side to the KC Stadium on Boxing day to face Hull City.

United are keen to build on their four match unbeaten run in all competitions and would be desperate to close the gap at the top of the table, the difference which currently lies at eight points. Hull City lies twelfth on the table four places below the Red Devil and Steve Bruce would love to topple the very team he used to play once as a player and remains a familiar figure. His Hull City side come into the game at the back of an encouraging 1-1 draw against West Brom at the Hawthorns  and much like they shocked Liverpool, the home side would love to add another big scalp in their kitty.

So what would David Moyes’ plan be to secure full points at the KC Stadium? Surely the Scot has well and truly understood that he cannot drop any more points if they are to retain their Champions tag or to finish in a Champions League spot. We here at Soccersouls provide you United’s best possible line up to tackle the Tigers on Thursday.

Goalkeeping:

David De Gea would love to keep another clean sheet as United would be looking for yet another victory away from home. Hull do have the attacking firepower up front but surely no where near to threaten the United back four.

Defence:

Moyes would love to stick to Johnny Evans and Chris Smalling in the middle of the park, rotating his squad in the middle of an excruciating fixture list. Rafael will definitely start in the right back slot while Evra will play in the left wing back role. Both of the full backs will have ample opportunities to barge forward and provide crosses from either side against an outfit they would be expected to win.

Midfield:

Phil Jones and Tom Cleverley will play in the central midfield role as Moyes will hope to seek balance in the middle of the park. Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore need to be tracked and so does the Hull midfield who will try to overload the United defence and crowd out the midfield. Adnan Januzaj’s more than impressive growth is sure to continue as the teenager make progress by leaps and bounds. Antonio Valencia will yet again try to carry forward his impressive form and yet again will look to provide deadly crosses from the right.

Strike Force:

Wayne Rooney will be starting with Danny Welback as both the Englishmen would love to stake claims to get the goals up front. While Welbeck will be mainly playing as the target man, Rooney will drop deep to provide a link between the midfield and defence and look to play Valencia and Januzaj on with his delightful and incisive cutting passes.

This is how our predicted line-up looks like.

In other news, Robing Van Persie who is struggling with a thigh injury is progressing well and is on his way to making a return. Quoted by United’s official website, Moyes said:

“Robin is progressing, he’s coming on, and he is feeling quite good,” David Moyes said. “He had a similar injury at Arsenal on his thigh, so it is something we have to be sure about [before he returns]. It wouldn’t be much good if it got repeated, so we will try to take it steady.”

“Obviously the medical team are controlling him, but we speak to Robin as well about how he feels and what he feels he needs to do. We’re doing everything we can to make sure he’s well looked after and well treated.”
