Strongest Manchester United line up To Play Against Crystal Palace – Young And Mata To Start?

Share

Manchester United’s enigmatic Premier League campaign continues when they travel to Selhurst Park to take on fifteenth placed Crystal Palace in a late night kickoff tomorrow. The Red Devils come into this encounter at the back of a disappointing goalless draw against Arsenal and will be looking to get back their wretched Premier League campaign back on track.

Palace however are a rejuvenated force now, under Tony Pulis and come into this encounter after a convincing 3-1 win over West Brom two weeks ago, as their match against Everton last week was called due to snow. Palace are unbeaten at home since December and will give United a run for their money. United should be looking look to win convincingly in order to regain their lost panache of steamrolling past teams at will and send their strongest eleven out on park. So what should be the line up for David Moyes? We here at Soccersouls have the answer for our readers.

Manchester United though have some injury concerns as Johnny Evans and Phil Jones alongside Danny Welbeck are on the sidelines while striker Fellaini could return and will be available on the bench.

Goalkeeping:

David De Gea will definitely start in goal for the Red Devils as the Spaniard will look to garner yet another clean sheet in consecutive games. Palace will have threat of their own with former Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh pulling the strings for the Eagles alongside Jason Puncheon who will certainly have a significant goal threat of his own.

Defence:

Rafael should start in the right back slot and will be using all his pace to terrorise the Palace left flank and get into crossing positions early into the game. Patrice Evra will surely start in the left back slot. In central defence it will be Nemanja Vidic who should start alongside Rio Ferdinand or Chris Smalling as they look to combat Crystal Palace’s fine run of home form coming into this encounter.

Midfield:

Micheal Carrick will start as the anchor man in the middle of the park probably alongside Tom Cleverley. As by the likes of it, Juan Mata should be playing on the right, trying to carry the creative burden from the flanks to feed it to Van Persie and Rooney up front. Moyes should also look to play youngster Adnan Januzaj on the left who also with his mesmerizing dribbling skills will be looking to link up with the triumvirate of Mata and the two strikers to score goals and muster a much needed win.

For once, Moyes should bench the likes of Young and Valencia and give Januzaj a starting role alongside Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney. However, knowing Moyes, Young may get the nod ahead of Januzaj for this one.

Strikeforce:

Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie will start together and look to convert chances and put the game to bed early on. All in all, Manchester United should win this convincingly and probably end Palace’s fine run of home fair ever since Tony Pulis has taken over.
