Strongest Arsenal Lineup To Play Against QPR – Debuchy At CB, OX In The Middle

Share

It is Arsenal Vs QPR for the boxing day fixture and it really is a must win game for Arsenal as the Premier League fast approaches the half way mark. While the 2-2 away draw against Liverpool was a disappointment, especially how the North London side was 2 minutes away from a win against a ten man Liverpool side, we must remember that it was a marked improvement from last season. Now there cannot be any doubt that Arsenal must get the three points in the next match with QPR to keep the pressure on Manchester United for the Champions League spots. Here at Soccersouls we give you our Arsenal lineup which we feel will lineup up against QPR.

Goalkeeper: Wojciech Szczesny

One big news we got from the Arsene Wenger press conference today is that David Ospina is now fit which means he will provide the Wojciech Szczesny some competition, which frankly the Pole needs to become a better player. However, for this match we are going to go with Szczesny as the goalkeeper.

Defence: Kieran Gibbs, Per Mertesacker, Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers

Another bit of news we got from the Arsene Wenger press conference is that Friday is going to be too soon for Laurent Koscielny so that will mean that we will see the same defensive lineup from Sunday’s match against Liverpool. While we are tempted to believe that Arsene Wenger might change it a little with Calum Chambers as the defensive partner for Per Mertesacker in the middle, we will go with Mathieu Debuchy as centre back instead given his impressive showings in the last 2 matches.Calum Chambers and Kieran Gibbs will be the two full backs who will be starting this match. Nacho Monreal is however fit enough and will provide the much needed cover to Kieran Gibbs.

Midfield: Mathieu Flamini, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla

While ideally Arsene Wenger would have loved to change his midfield a bit given the busy Christmas period, the fact that he has so many injuries to his midfielders means he is not afforded that luxury. Mathieu Flamini will start as per usual at the base of the midfield with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain starting besides him. Santi Cazorla will play in the most advanced position in midfield and Arsenal will be hoping that his good form will continue here for this match against QPR.

Forward: Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez

Although both of Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez had exceptionally poor games, we are sure that both will try to make sure that they improve their performances for the next match against QPR. Olivier Giroud will be the main focal point of the Arsenal attack.
