Steve Bruce to make 2 changes – Predicted 4-4-2 Aston Villa XI to face Bristol City

Predicted Aston Villa line-up to face Bristol City in the Championship

A twitchy Aston Villa play Bristol City away from home on Friday in a bid to improve their poor form. Steve Bruce’s men produced a meek performance at home against Sheffield Wednesday last week, hence, a better show would be expected from them this weekend.

They will now face a Bristol side who are also out of form, losing their previous two league games. So the home team would be up for a contest on a Friday night, which could make it very tough for Villa to play their football on low confidence.

Team News

Keinan Davis and Scott Hogan are back in training, but whether they will be included for this game or not is a question up in the air. Andre Moreira and Harry McKirdy are out for a while. Bruce might make one or two changes to the line-up which didn’t perform last time around.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Steve Bruce

Orjan Nyland (GK)

Nyland has had a mixed bag start to his Villa career. It is clear that the team is low on morale.

Ahmed ElMohamady (RB)

The Egyptian has looked better at right-back and expect him to continue playing there.

James Chester

James Chester (CB)

Chester has been one of the better performers this season. Bruce would want him to be in form.

Mile Jedinak (CB)

Even though the Aussie wasn’t impressive last week, Villa are short on options in central defence after loaning Tommy Elphick out. However, Axel Tuanzebe isn’t high on confidence either and hence Jedinak should keep his place.

Alan Hutton (LB)

The veteran always gives his best on the field. He is undroppable due to the fact that you can expect 100% from him.

John McGinn

John McGinn (CM)

Scored an absolute peach last week and is one of the best players at Aston Villa right now. The youngster is quickly gaining a reputation as a top midfielder.

Glenn Whelan (CM)

The experience of Whelan could be key for the team in a tough away game. He should replace Conor Hourihane for this contest.

Jack Grealish (LW)

The youngster signed a new contract this week, much to the delight of the fans. Whatever Villa do in the attack goes through him.

Yannick Bolasie (RW)

Albert Adomah has had his chances to prove himself and he has failed to deliver. New loan signing Bolasie should now get his first start in a Villa shirt.

Yannick Bolasie

Tammy Abraham (ST)

A hard-working striker who can create chances for others. He could be a key figure for the team this season.

Jonathan Kodjia (ST)

Kodjia has struggled to really make an impact so far. Maybe, he needs time to gel with Abraham up top. However, the manager would want more from him in the coming games.
