Adkins to make 2 changes – Predicted 4-4-1-1 Hull City XI to face Middlesbrough

Predicted Hull City line-up to face Middlesbrough in the Championship

An out of form Hull City play second-placed Middlesbrough in the Championship at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday. Nigel Adkins’ men were poor against Reading last week, losing the game 0-3. That result has pushed them very close to the relegation zone, with just seven points from nine games.

They will face a Middlesbrough side who are joint-top in the table on points, only behind on goal difference. Hence, the task for the Tigers is huge despite the home advantage. Adkins and the fans would hope the team plays better and gives a good account of itself.

Team News

Ondrej Mazuch is back in training but is expected not to be involved in this game. While James Weir, Daniel Batty and Goebel Evandro are far from first-team training. Adkins should make one or two changes to his line-up from last week.

Probable Hull City XI

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Manager: Nigel Adkins

David Marshall (GK)

One of the better players in the Hull City team this season. Had a rough afternoon last week but he is good enough to come back strong.

Eric Lichaj

Eric Lichaj (RB)

Lichaj has been a reliable player at right-back but he needs to contribute more to the team’s attack.

Tommy Elphick (CB)

The Aston Villa loanee made a good start to his Hull career but had a torrid time last week. Expect him to dust up and fare better this time around.

Jordy de Wijs (CB)

He was surprisingly left out for the Reading game and Reece Burke was poor. The former should come back into the line-up.

Stephen Kingsley (LB)

The left-back has been inconsistent so far and Adkins would want more from him on a regular basis.

Jarrod Bowen

Jarrod Bowen (RW)

The youngster is one of the key players in the team. He is constantly putting up positive displays but is getting no support from his teammates.

Jackson Irvine (CM)

With Kevin Stewart not taking his chances in central midfield, Irvine might be pushed back from the No.10 role to shore up the midfield.

Markus Henriksen (CM)

The captain needs to step up and be an example for a young team. He has been in and out of touch this season.

Todd Kane (LW)

The youngster has been one of the better performers in the team. He could play a big part this year and make a difference.

Jon Toral

Jon Toral (CAM)

The Spaniard could get a chance to shine in the No.10 role. He needs to take this opportunity with both hands.

Fraizer Campbell (ST)

Often finds himself isolated from the game as the team is not able to support him enough. It is going to be tougher against Middlesbrough but he should find a way to step up.
