Norwich Player Ratings v Middlesbrough – Here’s how the Canaries fared

Norwich City became the first team to beat Middlesbrough this season via a Teemu Pukki goal in the second half. This is the first goal that the away side have conceded since the opening day, which shows how strong the Canaries are.

Boro had a great chance in the first half but Jonny Howson’s shot was saved by Tim Krul. Norwich then took a deserved lead in the second half when Emiliano Buendia teed up Pukki, who scored his fourth goal in five home games for the club. The home side then stuck to their defensive duties and secured the win.

Norwich City Player Ratings

Tim Krul (7)

Made some fantastic saves to keep his team in the game. Was impressive.

Tim Krul

Max Aarons (6)

A steady performance from the right-back who had his game under control.

Christoph Zimmermann (6.5)

A good performance at the back. Being a part of a defence which kept a clean sheet against the second-best team in the league is no mean feat at all.

Timm Klose (6.5)

Put in a good display alongside Zimmermann and thwarted the danger. Almost got sent off, only for the offside flag to save him

Jamal Lewis (6.5)

A steady performance just like other defenders.

Alex Tettey

Alex Tettey (6.5)

Tried to make things happen in the midfield and covered the space to defend the back-line.

Moritz Leitner (6.5)

Just like his midfield partner, Leitner was industrious in the midfield, working hard for the team.

Emiliano Buendia (7)

Was active throughout the game and assisted the only goal. Good work overall.

Marco Stiepermann (7)

Stiepermann was good in the No.10 role, linking up the play, creating chances and going in behind when required.

Kept the Boro keeper tested won his toes with his shots and was very lively in the attack. A good display from the Cuban.

Teemu Pukki

Teemu Pukki (7.5)

He is in form at the moment and that match-winning finish had the identity of a top-form striker written all over it.
