Slimani And Gray To Start: Strongest 4-4-2 Leicester City Line-Up To Face Bournemouth

Share

Predicted Leicester City Lineup To Face Bournemouth

Leicester City will welcome AFC Bournemouth to the King Power Stadium in the final game of the Premier League.

The Foxes were left bruised and battered by a 6-1 mauling at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at home on Thursday night and they will be keen on erasing the memories of that humiliation with a win against the Cherries. A win over Bournemouth may lead Leicester to a finish in the top half of the table as the two teams sit at 10th and 11th spots respectively with two points separating them.

Team News

Craig Shakespeare will once again have to deal with the absence of centre-back duo Wes Morgan and Robert Huth, as both the senior pros are likely to return to full fitness by Sunday. Midfielder Andy King is also a major doubt, while Danny Drinkwater, Molla Wague, and Nampalys Mendy are confirmed absentees.

Probable Leicester City Starting XI

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Craig Shakespeare

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The goalkeeper will once again lead the side out in the final game of the season. Will be itching for a clean sheet after letting in six goals in the previous game.

Danny Simpson (RB)

Did not have the best of the games on Thursday, much like the rest of the Foxes defence. Will have to contend with the threat of Marc Pugh.

Yohan Benalouane (CB)

With the hot streak that Joshua King is currently in, the Foxes’ centre-half will be in for a tough time on Sunday.

Christian Fuchs (CB)

Will continue in his makeshift position as a centre-back. Will need to muster up all his experience to deal with the Bournemouth attack.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

Scored the only goal on Thursday for Leicester, but his performance left a lot to be desired defensively. Will need to put in an improved display.

Riyad Mahrez (RM)

With speculations rife that he wants to leave the club in the summer, this could very well turn out to be Mahrez’s last game in the blue of Leicester.

Wilfred Ndidi (CM)

The 20-year old is slowly making a name for himself with some fine performances in the middle of the park. Will start on Sunday.

Daniel Amartey (CM)

With King and Drinkwater both unavailable, Shakespeare will have no other option but to go with Daniel Amartey alongside Ndidi in the midfield.

Demarai Gray (LM)

Marc Albrighton has been preferred on the left-hand side, but Shakespeare should look to hand Demarai Gray a start, as he has the ability to hurt the opposition defence.

Islam Slimani (ST)

Another change that might take place in the line-up is, record signing Islam Slimani coming in for Shinji Okazaki.

Jamie Vardy (ST)

The England international will look to cause problems to the Cherries defence with his pace and running in behind the centre-halves.
