Simply Not Good Enough – 3 Players Arsenal Should Sell/Loan Out In The January Transfer Window

Share

After a slow start to the season with a loss against Liverpool and a draw against Leicester City, Arsenal have put on a consistent show in the Premier League this season and have moved into the 4th place in the points table. They were held by a gritty Tottenham side leading into the international break with the manager left with a few issues to solve going into the rest of the season. With the January transfer window coming up, Arsene Wenger will have one eye on players who he can add to the squad but he will also be thinking about players who have a place in his squad this season. Here are 3 such players who should be loaned out or sold in the winter transfer window:

Here are 3 such players who should be loaned out or sold in the winter transfer window:

Mathieu Debuchy – Sell:

The 31-year old French defender has entered his third season at the club but has just 12 starts to his name at the Emirates. At his age, he is a senior player who should lead from the front but with Hector Bellerin occupying the right-back spot for the club, Debuchy has found game time hard to come by this season. He is yet to make an appearance in the league and clearly is not in the plans of the manager and is not long before Wenger lets him go. With some quality players available in the market, Wenger might already be in search of a potential replacement for Debucy, who might leave the club in January.

Krystian Bielik – Loan:

Having impressed in his only appearance as a substitute in the league this season, the Poland teenager is one of the most exciting talents at the Emirates at the moment. A center back by trait, Bielik can also play as a pivot in front of the defense and Wenger has spoken highly of him on more than one occasions. He is not yet close to a regular first team spot and with the intensity and value of the fixtures only increasing, it is hard to see Wenger give him any first team action this season. So it might be time for the manager to let the 18-year old move away from the club to find a regular place in the starting XI at another club that can help him become a better player for the future.

Chuba Akpom – Loan:

The U21 England international has been on the books for the Gunners for more than 3 years now and he has spent all these years out on loan at different clubs. He was finally included in the Arsenal squad for the Premier League this season but has just one game under his belt so far. At his age, he needs regular playing time to become a better player and though Wenger wanted to use him in his squad this season, it might not be the right time to push him into the first team. He is a talented player who can help the side add some mettle to their attack but with enough depth in attack already, it might be best for Akpom to leave the club on yet another loan in January.
