Sensational Schlupp – The Best And The Worst Rated Crystal Palace Players From The 2-2 Draw With West Ham

Full Time: Crystal Palace 2-2 West Ham United

Crystal Palace managed to secure one point against West Ham United as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Selhurt Park. Javier Hernandez gave the Hammers the lead following which Andre Ayew doubled the Hammers’ advantage just before the break with a superb strike.

However, that was not enough as Palace got themselves back into the game as Luka Milivojevic sent Joe Hart the wrong way from the penalty spot early in the second half. Finally, Wilfried Zaha struck in the last minute of injury time to earn a point for the home side.

Crystal Palace Player Ratings

Julian Speroni – 5/10

It was certainly not his best day out. For large periods, he had very little to do. Although he got a hand to Hernandez’s opener, he was still caught out. Speroni also failed to do much to keep Ayew’s strike out.

Joel Ward – 4.5/10

Ward failed to do much as the first goal came from his side. He was also wasteful in terms of passing.

Scott Dann – 6/10

Dann was guilty of not making a challenge on Ayew as he doubled the visitors’ lead and besides that, he was invisible for most parts of the game.

James Tomkins – 6.5/10

Tomkins too, had a less than average game for Palace. He started in Sakho’s place but he failed to do much. However, he was a threat when it came to set pieces.

Patrick van Aanholt – N/A

The player got injured early on and was replaced within the first 9 minutes itself.

Luka Milivojevic

Luka Milivojevic – 7/10

Milivojevic was quite wasteful as he gave away possession for Ayew’s strike. But then he contributed with some crucial tackles and interceptions.

Yohan Cabaye – 5/10

Cabaye did not do much in the first half, but he did come close to equalising. Besides that, the player did not make any worthy contributions.

Jeffrey Schlupp – 8/10

Schlupp displayed his versatility once more for Palace. He worked hard and made some good challenges. He also came close to scoring after the break.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 7/10

The youngster looked quite threatening initially but his power faded a bit as the game wore on. Nevertheless, he was involved in some good play in the midfield.

Andros Townsend – 8/10

Townsend clearly worked hard for the team, and won the penalty after beating Angelo Ogbonna to the ball.

Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha – 7/10

Zaha was subjected to some frustration but he kept soldiering on. He was quite dependable, and also scored the final goal for Palace.

Subs:

Timothy Fosu-Mensah – 7/10

He came on to replace Patrick van Aanholt at left-back, before switching to the right in the second half. Fosu-Mensah did his duty quite well.

Bakary Sako – 6/10

Sako caused some problems to the West Ham defence but missed an opportunity to score when he hooked over from close range.
