Sanchez (Arsenal) vs. Hazard (Chelsea): Who Should Be The PFA Player Of The Year?

Share

It’s a Wild West shootout, the two hottest properties of the Premier League season; at least the two hottest wingers this season, Sanchez and Hazard have been exceptional for their respective teams. The wingers have been a difference for their team as they have pushed them to the top 2 in the Premier League.

While Chelsea can boast a Premier League winning team, considering they should win the league in a couple of games, Arsenal will be ruing what could have been, the second half of the season has been stellar for the Gunners but their first half really let them down. Sanchez might have been a newbie to the Premier League but he has rebuilt his reputation after a slow start at Barcelona while Hazard has steadily grown from a talent for the future to a world class winger at Chelsea. Both players are in the running to win the Player of the season award, we compare both the stars using Squawka.com and find out just who deserve to be the Player of the season amongst the pair.

Sanchez vs. Hazard

We would only be comparing stats on an average per game basis as that can be considered as a proper measure for the comparison of two world class players. The most important stat is about goals, while Sanchez averages a goal almost every other game with 0.48 goals a game, Hazard is not far behind as he averages 0.41 goals per game, so they are not far apart when it comes to finding the net.

Alexis Sanchez

In the assists column, it is Sanchez again who marginally beats the Belgian. Sanchez averages 0.28 assists per game while Hazard averages 0.25 assists per game; again there is not much to separate the two players. We then have to look at the other aspects of their game to find out a winner. Hazard has a better set of passing stats than Sanchez.

Hazard completes 87% of all his passes per game while Sanchez averages only 77% of passes per game, Hazard has more successful passes as well with 48 passes per game while Sanchez only has around 31 passes per game which are successful. It then comes down to which player is better at taking on opponents, Hazard wins this round as well since he averages 4.78 successful take ons compared to 3.52 successful take-ons by Sanchez.

Hazard

Hazard also wins the round when it comes to key passes; he averages 2.47 key passes per game while Sanchez averages 2.03 key passes per game. This should win it for Hazard, the Belgian has been unbelievable for Chelsea time and time again and although Sanchez has had a brilliant season, a first one for Arsenal, it is the Belgian who wins this battle hands down.
