Rodriguez and Gayle to lead the line – Strongest 4-4-1-1 West Brom XI to face QPR

Predicted West Brom line-up to face Queens Park Rangers in the Championship

After picking up an enthralling 3-4 win against Norwich City in the last game, Darren Moore’s men will be pumped to go up against Queens Park Rangers this weekend. After failing to win on the opening day of the season, the Baggies made amends to their campaign with an impressive performance against the Canaries.

West Bromwich Albion looked threatening on the attack, but Darren Moore needs to shore up his defense a little bit. The Baggies have conceded 4 goals in their last two games and that will be an issue the manager has to address.

Team News

Moore has a fully-fit squad to pick from and has no real injuries to worry about at the time. West Brom picked up a 1-0 win against Luton Town in their mid-week League Cup game and all their players returned unscathed.

The manager also rested a number of stars in order to keep the squad fresh ahead of their weekend clash with QPR.

Probable West Brom XI

Manager: Darren Moore

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Sam Johnstone (GK)

Johnstone was the hero last time out after saving a penalty in the game against Norwich City. The Manchester United loanee has not been able to keep a clean sheet but has been impressive nevertheless.

Allan Nyom (RB)

Nyom picked up an assist last time out and proved his quality as an attacking full-back. The 30-year-old was handed a duly deserved rest in the mid-week and should return to the squad this weekend.

Kyle Bartley (CB)

Bartley has come into the side to replace Jonny Evans and the defender has done well in his absence. He should start this game as well.

Ahmed Hegazi (CB)

The Egyptian is a leader and a rock at the back for the Baggies. Despite conceding a lot of goals, Hegazi has proven to be their best defender over the last one year.

Ahmed Hegazi

Kieran Gibbs (LB)

The former Arsenal defender has already picked up an assist and has shown his potential going forward. He has also displayed impressive work rate since coming into the side.

Matt Phillips (RM)

Phillips’ ability in the squad is unrivalled and he should start all the league games if possible. His marauding runs often tend to split open defences, providing the Baggies with ample options in the final third.

Jake Livermore (RCM)

Livermore brings a sense of stability in the midfield and offers defensive cover as well. His distribution on the ball is vital for the Baggies.

Chris Brunt (LCM)

Brunt’s left foot will always prove to be a massive asset for West Brom. His shots and deliveries are ever so vital for the Baggies going forward.

Chris Brunt

Harvey Barnes (LM)

Barnes scored an excellent goal in the last game against Norwich City. The 20-year-old is proving to be an exceptional talent.

Jay Rodriguez (CAM)

After scoring 2 goals in the previous game, Jay Rodriguez will be aiming to get on the scoresheet once again and prove himself in front of goal. He was a constant threat in the final third last time and possesses the ability to pop up with a goal out of the blue.

Dwight Gayle (ST)

Gayle might take a game or two to settle down under Moore, but the man is a Championship goal machine. He will eventually prove fruitful for the club.
