Predicted Celtic Line-up To Face Hearts In The Scottish Premiership

Celtic will look to extend their unbeaten run to 61 games, when they pay a visit to the Tynecastle to take on Hearts of Midlothian FC on Sunday.

The Hoops continued on their unprecedented run in the domestic competitions, defeating Hamilton Academical 3-1 during the midweek and manager Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that his troops continue in the same way against Craig Levein’s side over the weekend.

Team News

Defenders Erik Sviatchenko and Anthony Ralston are once again set to miss out for the Scottish champions, while Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts too, is out for three months. Manager Rodgers revealed on Friday that attacking midfielder Tom Rogic has been ruled out of action till the new year due to a knee injury.

Here’s how the Bhoys might take the field at the Tynecastle on Sunday:

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Craig Gordon (GK)

The veteran has been a little shaky in the past couple of games. Will look to put in an assured display on Sunday.

Mikael Lustig (RB)

Having been benched for the midweek game against the Accies, Swedish defender Mikael Lustig should return to the starting XI at right-back.

Kristoffer Ajer (CB)

The youngster had a solid outing on Wednesday against Hamilton and could be in line to make another start on Sunday.

Kristoffer Ajer

Dedryck Boyata (CB)

There remain a number of doubts over his ability at the back, but the Belgian remains Rodgers’ best defender and will look to have a strong performance.

Kieran Tierney (LB)

Another player who was not used in the game during the midweek, the 20-year old Kieran Tierney should return to the line-up.

Scott Brown (CM)

The club captain is one of the most influential players on the field for the Hoops. Knows what these games mean and will be raring to go.

Olivier Ntcham (CM)

The Frenchman is growing in stature with each of his performance for the reigning champions. Should keep his place in the midfield.

James Forrest (RW)

The winger has been in good form and has been a consistent source of goals for the Hoops. Will look to make another telling contribution on Sunday.

Leigh Griffiths

Callum McGregor (CAM)

The Scottish international will take his place in the No.10 role for the Hoops and look to make a solid contribution going forward for his side.

Scott Sinclair (LW)

The Englishman enjoys facing the Hearts, having scored 7 goals and 3 assists in 5 games against them. Will be hoping to continue in the same vein of form.

Leigh Griffiths (ST)

The former Hibernian striker relishes these clashes and after having not been involved much lately, he should replace Odsonne Edouard at the top of the attack.
