Reportedly, Arsenal are planning to enter the race to sign Manchester United target Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich.
Last week, it was reported that Manchester United were negotiating a big-money move that could lure the German target away from the Allianz Arena.
Muller is thought to be unhappy with his new role under Pep Guardiola, particularly after being benched/substituted for important matches like Champions League fixtures gainst Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester United this season.
Now with Arsenal entering the race, Manchester United may lose their target as the gunners can promise champions league action while the Red devils did not qualify for any European competitions next season.
However in a recent interview, Muller said,
“I didn’t make these rumours up myself, so I don’t particularly want to comment on them too much, but I’m definitely not about to jump ship at Bayern.
“That said, I can’t make any guarantees for all time.”
Bayern president Franz Beckenbauer insisted that they will fight to keep the talented star at the Bavarian club.
He said,
“Regarding Thomas Müller, FC Bayern should fight [to keep him], if he actually has plans [to leave].
“Bayern must do ??everything possible to keep Muller. Only if he refuses categorically to stay, would we have to find another solution.”
