Strongest Liverpool Line Up To Play Against Newcastle: Henderson Back, Coutinho & Lucas Benched

Share

Liverpool go into the final gameweek of the season and they are pitted against Newcastle united. Liverpool would have certainly liked to be in a better position than they are now and they would have liked to believe that they would have controlled the proceedings. But that unfortunately is not the case and Liverpool go into the match with the hope that Manchester City lose against West Ham for them to lift the trophy. It is the last chance for the Liverpool players to shine and they should go into the match with the following squad.

Simon Mignolet- He has been a decent shot stopper throughout the season, amid some mistakes that are bound to happen for any keeper in his first season at a top club. He should be in the squad on Sunday and be the first choice next season as well.

Glen Johnson- The English right back is one of the veterans of the club and is expected to take the field against Newcastle. But his future is still not sure and no one would be surprised if he is transferred out of the club in the summer.

Martin Skrtel- Skrtel has been one of the rare decent defenders for Liverpool this season and Rodgers should give him the place in the final match. Amid speculations of a transfer, he should be in the squad next term as well.

Sakho- He has not had the same impact that was expected of him when he was brought in for a huge sum of money from PSG this season, but Rodgers still believe that he can do better than he has already done and should start him ahead of Agger on Sunday.

Jon Flanagan- The English International should be continued down the left flank. He along with Sterling and Henderson has been the most consistent players apart from Suarez this season. Flanagan’s work rate has been immaculate and certainly deserves much more credit.

Joe Allen- He did not start the season very well, but off late his performances have improved a lot and the former Swansea man has finally started adjusting to life at the Merseyside. The manager should keep him in the team and monitor his situation one more time.

Steven Gerrard- There can never be any doubts regarding the selection of captain Gerrard. He would again have to play a very vital role and do the job in the central of the midfield for his team. He would also hope to lift the trophy for the first time in his career at the end of the match.

Jordan Henderson- Henderson returns for the match after his three match suspension and he should make the squad directly. His suspension has hampered the title chances for Liverpool and he would hope to have the same effect that he used to have for the club.

Raheem Sterling- The youngster has been of the brightest stars and Liverpool already have big plans around him. Sterling is a must at this stage for the club.

Luis Suarez- The Uruguayan striker has scored 31 times this season and he would like to take his tally even further in the final match of the season against the relatively weak Newcastle.

Daniel Sturridge- The English striker has been a revelation this season and he would like to prove that his form was no fluke when Liverpool clash against Newcastle on Sunday.
