Rangers News: Steven Gerrard has opened up about his intentions to stay at Rangers for a while.
Following the unexpected exit of Brendan Rodgers to the Premier League, the Gers manager stated that he has no intentions to leave Ibrox yet.
Gerrard said (h/t The Daily Record):
“I don’t look at the Premier League, I don’t wish I was in the Premier League, I am very happy here.
“Rangers is massive, Rangers is huge and that’s the reason why I decided to take this opportunity up. I really appreciate where I sit right now and the job I have here. This is a huge job.”
The Light Blues manager further commented on the Northern Irishman’s move to Leicester claiming a return to Premier League management would be enticing to the former Liverpool and Swansea boss.
The former England international was the captain during the reign of Rodgers at Liverpool.
The former Swansea manager left Celtic in the middle of the season with the Hoops still leading the table.
Gerrard added that he was happy at the club (h/t The Daily Record)
“But it’s certainly not the case with me. I am very happy and settled here and delighted I am the Rangers manager.”
Having spent almost his entire career at Anfield, Gerrard became the manager of the Ibrox side ahead of this season.
The Gers produced an emphatic win in their last two games following back to back draws last week.
The win against Kilmarnock saw the Light Blues securing their place in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.
The Ibrox manager was also pleased with the financial results as the Gers made a £5.2million profit in their half-yearly report (h/t The Daily Record)
The Light Blues will be facing Dundee United tonight in the Premiership, as they look to hunt down Celtic.
