Celtic FC News: Brendan Rodgers has been appointed as the new manager of Leicester City.
The former Celtic manager was pursued by the Premier League side after they sacked Claude Puel.
The Northern Irish manager has previously managed Liverpool and Swansea in the Premier League.
Rodgers has signed a deal which extends till June 2022 and was a spectator at the King Power Stadium last night where the Foxes defeated Brighton 2-1.
Following the move to the City, Rodgers said h/t (LCFC News):
“I’ll give my life to make the supporters proud of their club,”
He added that he feels privileged to represent the club and looks forward to working with the players and staffs.
Meanwhile, the Hoops have announced Neil Lennon as the makeshift manager till the end of the season.
Kolo Toure who used to be part of the support staff of Rodgers at Celtic Park has also joined the Premier League side as a first-team coach.
Rodgers joined the Scottish gitants when he left Liverpool in 2016. Ever since then, he has led the Hoops to two trebles in the consecutive seasons.
The former Swansea manager has won all the seven out of seven domestic trophies in Glasgow.
He successfully led his side to the Champions League group stage and Europa League twice yet he found it tough to make quality progress into the knockout rounds.
The Scottish giants are the Premiership leaders and yet to lose a match in the Premiership from the start of the year.
At Swansea, Rodgers created history by leading the only Welsh club to lift the Football League Champions Cup.
He was the recipient of the LMA manager of the year during his managerial spell at Liverpool and also led the Reds to a Premier League title.
