Rangers News: Steven Gerrard and Glenn Middleton of Rangers attended the press conference ahead of their game against St. Johnstone.

Gerrard started the press conference by providing an update on Wes Foderingham as the goalkeeper will be available in place of Allan McGregor for tomorrow’s game.

McGregor has been handed a two-match ban in the event of his misconduct against Aberdeen last week. The Scottish club manager added he is looking forward to the game against St. Johnstone.

Gerrard on plastic pitches

The former Liverpool star offered his thoughts on plastic pitches. The Englishman said he doesn’t want the game to be played in such harmful surfaces. He added that the people who embrace plastic surfaces should consider the safety of players.

Gerrard raised the question of unavailability of grass ground despite the league being popular.

The manager said he expects a tough game from the visitors. When asked about the master plan he revealed the Gers would stick to the attacking football.

Gerrard updated the availability of the players as Jermaine Defoe and Kyle Laferty are still uncertain owing to the injuries. He added Connor Goldson is in a good shape and Mebude Dapo has also been included to the squad.

The Light Blue manager praised the youngster’s tendency and said he would be a prospect of Rangers soon.

He also expressed his concern about missing out on the primary strikers. Yet, he believes that the Gers have quality attacking players as alternatives.

Alfredo Morelos has been detained for three matches after his misconduct on the field while Defoe has been hampered with injury.

Middleton speaks

The Scottish winger said his role would be moving forward and to attack the opponent’s defence.

He said the quality of the reserved players has been increasing day by day since they were training at the highest level.
