Projected England Line Up For The Euros Featuring Tottenham & Leicester’s Current In-form Players

Share

Before the start of every major tournament it is the same procedure. The English media will hype the team, the team will do alright in the friendlies and then the national side will lose against a small team and exit the tournament unceremoniously.

No one expected England to do much in the 2014 World Cup and the side tamely went out of the group stages. The same cannot be said about the Euros as England did really well in the qualifiers and the way some of the players are performing in the Premier League, they have more than a shot of progressing into the next round.

With squad selection being extremely vital for any team to do well in an international competition, we provide an England XI based on the form of the players from this EPL season.

Joe Hart

There really isn’t any doubt who should be the number one, Jack Butland could stake a claim but just for consistency of performances, Hart stays as the goalkeeper for the team.

Kyle Walker

The Tottenham right-back might have had a slow start to the campaign but he is one of the reasons why Spurs are doing so well in the league this season.

Wes Morgan

What a turnaround it has been for Wes Morgan. He could actually win the Premier League if things go right and he has been one of the best defenders in the league and certainly the most improved player this season.

Chris Smalling

The Manchester United defender might not be having the greatest of times with his club but his form has been one of the few shining moments of the season for the club and he should take that with him for England.

Danny Rose

Another Tottenham player who is shining bright, Danny Rose might not be the first choice in all the games but he has performed well every time he has put on the white of Tottenham.

Eric Dier

The English midfielder has been a revelation this season in a deeper role for Tottenham’s midfield and he could be starting for England in France come the Euros.

Danny Drinkwater

The 24-year-old might not be the most talented player out there in terms of skill but he certainly makes up for that with his tenacity and overall contribution to the team.

Dele Alli

The rising star of English football, can it be anyone else who gets a berth in the team? Dele Alli would still need to show what he is capable of against international teams but there are high hopes for the young Spurs attacker.

Ross Barkley

The Everton attacker might not be the most consistent player out there but if he is given a free role, like for his club, he could be incredibly effective for England, at least from an attacking point of view.

Harry Kane

The 22-year-old Tottenham striker is one of the best in the league and should make it into the Euro team even if he is not in form. England fans must be praying he does not suffer from burnout by the end of the season.

Jamie Vardy

Can there be any other striker for the English team this season with Kane? Vardy has been a breath of fresh air and he must start because of the form he is in at the moment.
