Predicted Celtic Line-up To Face Motherwell In The Scottish Premiership

Celtic will look to stretch their unbeaten run in the domestic competitions to 66 games, when they face off against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, at the Fir Park on Wednesday night.

The Bhoys come into the game having defeated the same opponents 2-0 in the finals of the Scottish League Cup on Sunday to win the fourth consecutive title of the Brendan Rodgers’ era and the former Liverpool boss will be hoping to make it two wins in two against the Steelmen when the two teams meet on Wednesday.

Team News

Anthony Ralston is the only absentee for the reigning Scottish champions, with a knee injury. Rodgers has a clean bill of health other than that and will have all his players available for selection.

And here’s how the Hoops could line up at the Fir Park on Wednesday:

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Craig Gordon (GK)

The veteran shot-stopper is the undisputed choice between the sticks for the Bhoys and he will look to get another clean sheet on Wednesday.

Mikael Lustig (RB)

At right-back, Swedish defender Mikael Lustig is set to continue in the starting XI with Anthony Ralston not available for Rodgers to rotate.

Jozo Simunovic

Jozo Simunovic (CB)

The Bosnian centre-half is set to make his third appearance in a row post his return from injury last week.

Dedryck Boyata (CB)

Alongside Simunovic, Belgian centre-half Dedryck Boyata will keep his deserved place in the starting XI. Will want to keep Louis Moult quiet.

Kieran Tierney (LB)

One of the brightest young players in Europe, the 20-year old Scottish left-back is a definite starter for the midweek encounter.

Scott Brown (CM)

The Celtic club captain Scott Brown is another sure shot starter in the middle of the park, on Wednesday night against Motherwell.

Scott Brown

Olivier Ntcham (CM)

Alongside Brown, we could see a change in the line-up with Olivier Ntcham likely to come in for Stuart Armstrong.

Patrick Roberts (RW)

The loanee from Manchester City was bright in his short cameo over the weekend. Might be handed a start over weekend goalscorer James Forrest on the right flank.

Tom Rogic (CAM)

Another change that could happen in the playing XI is Australian attacking midfielder coming into the No.10 role in place of Callum McGregor.

Patrick Roberts

Scott Sinclair (LW)

The English attacker will be up against a hostile Motherwell crowd, after having won a controversial penalty in the finals on Sunday. Will be keen on faring better than how he did at the Hampden Park though.

Moussa Dembele (ST)

Leading the line for the Bhoys, it should be French starlet Moussa Dembele. The former Fulham man netted against the Steelmen at the weekend and will want to get on the scoresheet again.
