Predicted Newcastle United Lineup To Face West Ham United In The Premier League

Newcastle United will look to revive their faltering start to the new campaign, when they take on West Ham United in the third match-week of the Premier League, at the St. James’ Park.

The Magpies have had a torrid start to life back in the top-flight, having lost their first two games – a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur followed a by 1-0 loss at the hands of fellow promoted club Huddersfield Town. And things got even worse when they were dumped out of the EFL Cup by second division club Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.

Manager Rafael Benitez will have a tough job of getting the morale back up in the squad, but a win against the Hammers, who themselves are yet to get a point in the Premier League, will be absolutely vital if they are to get their season back on track.

Team News

The Magpies continue to be without a recognised left-back in the squad as Paul Dummett still remains unavailable. Florian Lejeune, according to manager, is working hard to regain full fitness before the weekend, but might still miss out. DeAndre Yedlin remains out, while Jonjo Shelvey is still suspended. Dwight Gayle was taken ill before the cup game and might not feature.

Manager: Rafael Benitez

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Rob Elliot (GK)

The manager’s No.1 was benched in favour of Karl Darlow for the cup game. Expect him to walk back into the playing XI.

Javier Manquillo (RB)

Another one who was benched for the midweek game, the summer arrival should return to starting XI, in the place of Jamie Sterry.

Jamaal Lascelles

Jamaal Lascelles (CB)

The club captain also did not play any part in the loss against Nottingham Forest. In line for a return against the Hammers.

Ciaran Clark (CB)

The former Aston Villa man will make a return to the starting setup after a rest for the midweek game against Forest.

Chancel Mbemba (LB)

With Paul Dummett unavailable, Benitez might continue to opt Chancel Mbemba at left-back, after the 23-year old did a more than decent job against Huddersfield last weekend.

Matt Ritchie (RM)

The 27-year old Scotsman is another one who will come back into the starting XI, after having to make do with a role on the bench on Wednesday night.

Matt Ritchie

Mikel Merino (CM)

The summer arrival on loan from Borussia Dortmund has shown signs of his ability, but will need to step it up in Jonjo Shelvey’s absence.

Isaac Hayden (CM)

The 22-year old former Arsenal man will partner Merino in the middle of the park and try and shield his backline.

Rolando Aarons (LM)

The youngster put on an exciting display against Nottingham and managed to score a goal as well. Should start ahead of Christian Atsu.

Aleksandar Mitrovic

Ayoze Perez (CF)

The Spaniard will start just in behind the main striker and look to make things happen. Was wasteful against Huddersfield last weekend and cannot afford to do that again.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (ST)

With Gayle ill, the big Serb got his chance in the cup game and he impressed, scoring an early goal in the game. Should lead the line, ahead of summer signing Joselu.
