Predicted Tottenham Lineup To Face Manchester United In The Premier League

Spurs lock horns with the gritty Manchester United to get back to winning ways after having salvaged a draw against Newport County in the FA Cup. It turns out that this mouth-watering encounter is be a must win for Pochettino and his troops in order for them to keep pace with the clubs fighting for the Champions League spot. Some key men are set to return for the North London club as they seek a winning run that could grant them another Champions League run, next season.

Team News

The biggest boosts include the return of Christian Eriksen, who was sidelined for the FA Cup game due to flu. Toby Alderweireld is set to return after suffering from a long-term injury. This match has come too soon for Erik Lamela, who’s just one step away from recovering from a gluteus injury. Danny Rose, Harry Winks and Serge Aurier are ruled out. However, they aren’t far away from a first-team return.

Probable Tottenham XI

Pochettino will field a robust back four and doesn’t have the depth in some areas where he could replace his players as a part of the rotation. Especially with such an important game ahead, he could look to play the strongest XI with four at the back.

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Formation: 4-2-3-1

GK: Hugo Lloris

Lloris is set to lead the side. One of the best in the business, he will be key to deciding the result of this fixture.

RB: Kieran Trippier

Trippier was benched for the FA Cup and should be fresh for this one. He is quick, hard working and is a skilled crosser of the ball.

CB: Jan Vertonghen

Vertonghen will add solidity and strength at the back. His no-nonsense attitude will be required against Manchester United.

Ben Davies

CB: Davinson Sanchez

Davinson Sanchez has been in good form with his positioning and tackling. He will play alongside Vertonghen.

LB: Ben Davies

Another one who will be fresh coming into this game. If Davies brings back his early season form, he can take the game away from the Red Devils.

CM: Eric Dier

Dier should be chosen for his assurance and the role of safeguarding the back four. He holds his line and defends better than any other midfielder in the side.

CM: Mousa Dembele

Dembele ensures composure in possession and wins the ball back in key areas. He will be needed to outplay the likes of Pogba and Matic.

LW: Son Heung-min

The extremely talented winger will take players on, exchange passes with his fellow forwards and get into key areas. His finishing ability will come to good use if he gets his space around the box.

Christian Eriksen

CAM: Dele Alli

Alli should play in behind Harry Kane as the No.10.

RW: Christian Eriksen

He is the backbone of this team, gels the play together and provides the right deliveries into the box.

ST: Harry Kane

Was not all that effective in the previous game but still managed to get a goal for himself. He just needs a moment to kill the game and put the opposition on the back foot.
