Predicted Leeds United Line-up To Face Bristol City In The EFL Championship

Leeds United will look to bounce back from a poor run of games, when they take on Bristol City at the Ashton Gate this Saturday.  

Thomas Christiansen’s side are in a rut after a brilliant start to the season and have now lost three games in a row, with away defeats against Cardiff City, Sheffield Wednesday before the international break being followed by a 1-0 loss to Reading FC last weekend. The Danish manager will be hoping that his troops shake off the disappointing run of results and collect three points against the Robins over the weekend.

There are no injuries or suspensions for the Whites coming into the game. Christiansen will have a fully fit squad at his disposal and given the poor run of results, there may be some changes expected. 

Here’s how Leeds could line up at the Ashton Gate on Saturday:

Manager: Thomas Christiansen

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Andy Lonergan (GK)

The 34-year old was preferred to Felix Wiedwald last weekend and he justified his selection with a strong display. Should keep his place between the sticks, ahead of the German. 

Luke Ayling (RB)

The 26-year old signed a new four-year contract with the Whites earlier this week and will be looking to celebrate it with a good performance at right-back. 

Pontus Jansson (CB)

The Swede hasn’t been his usual majestic self this season. He will need to bring his A-game if Leeds are to do away with the defensive woes that seem to be troubling them recently. 

Liam Cooper (CB)

The captain too needs to step up a notch in the coming weeks and alongside Jansson, has to make sure Leeds don’t concede soft goals, as it has been the case of late. 

Gaetano Berardi (LB)

The Swiss full-back remains the Whites’ best option at left-back ahead of Vurnon Anita and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson. Should start at the Ashton Gate. 

Eunan O’Kane (CM)

Looked rusty and jaded last week, possibly due to the after effects of an illness. Has been one of Leeds’ better performers this term and should be backed to come good.  

Ronaldo Vieira (CM)

One change that could very well take place is Kalvin Phillips getting dropped for Ronaldo Vieira in the midfield. The teenager hasn’t been used a lot by the new manager, but Christiansen could now bring him in, in order to reinforce his midfield. 

Gianni Alioski (RW)

The Macedonian has faded after a bright start to life in England. Has the ability to change the game on its head when he gets going though, and deserves to be backed, ahead of Kemar Roofe. 

Samu Saiz (CAM)

The Whites’ best player in the attacking half, the Spaniard has been a brilliant addition to the squad. Without a doubt, he is a definite starter.  

Stuart Dallas (LW)

One more change that could take place is Stuart Dallas getting the nod on the left flank ahead of Pablo Hernandez, who has struggled in the past few games including a missed penalty last weekend against Reading. 

Pierre-Michel Lasogga (ST)

The German striker needs good service to thrive, as he did in the early games. If the Leeds’ creative players find him in good positions, he will score.
