Despite their troubles this season, Rangers are actually unbeaten now in 7 games having played both Celtic and Aberdeen away.
Pedro Caixinha is slowly discovering what his ideal team is and it is coming at a nice time. A good end to the season will fill everyone with confidence at Ibrox, not that they can take anything for granted.
An excellent 3-0 away win at 2nd placed Aberdeen may leave some feeling that this will be easy, but Partick have been one of the best teams in the league this season and hence a tough battle can be expected.
Rangers’ no.1 has kept 11 clean sheets in the league in what has been a strange first season back. His place seems guaranteed.
Primarily a defender, Tav can do some serious damage when venturing forward on the right and if not for anything, he’ll be disappointed with his return of 1 league goal so far.
The 20-year-old centre-back has appeared undaunted since being given his chance and is a better option than Hill or Kiernan.
Has struck up a partnership with Bates and should continue to play alongside the young man at centre-back.
The 18-year-old Maltese defender will continue in the absence of captain Lee Wallace and has done a sterling job so far.
The midfield linchpin continues. Former Hearts player Holt has become increasingly important to Rangers and would be a huge miss if he is dropped.
Toral is on-loan from Arsenal but at 22 already, he may be thinking his time at the Emirates will never come. Another good performance here gives him the chance of a good permanent move elsewhere.
Last summer’s signing from Leicester has not been a regular in the team but certainly has quality. 3 goals and 2 assists in his 25 Premiership appearances is a good return and so having come off the bench last week, he may get a starting berth here.
The evergreen (or forever Blue?) former Scotland striker scored twice at Aberdeen and continues to show his quality. Another 90 minutes looks assured for him.
The man on loan from Bournemouth has done well so far and will be a big danger to the Partick’s defence on Saturday. Barrie McKay may be utilised from the bench.
Disappointingly for Rangers, Waghorn has returned just 6 league goals for them this season and would do well to come alive between now and May.
